Final Rule USCIS Asylum Interviews

Final Rule USCIS Asylum Interviews

DO YOU HAVE AN ASYLUM CASE PENDING WITH USCIS?

IF SO, MAKE SURE YOU ATTEND YOUR NEWLY SCHEDULED IMMIGRATION COURT HEARING!!!

USCIS may now transfer your asylum case to immigration court without first allowing you to have an asylum interview at the asylum office.

To everyone who has filed for asylum with USCIS. Please make sure to check your mail regularly and check your asylum case status online daily at: https://acis.eoir.justice.gov/en/ to see whether you have a newly scheduled immigration court hearing for your asylum case.

To see if you have a hearing on this website: https://acis.eoir.justice.gov/en/, you must enter your A number (a 9-digit number that is your number as an immigrant in the US) and the country where you are from.

After entering this information, the website will let you know if you are scheduled to appear for a hearing in immigration court for your asylum application.

Please continue to check this website and your mail daily to make sure you are aware of any changes to your asylum case and any newly scheduled hearings.

If your case is transferred from USCIS to the immigration court and a hearing is set for you and you do not appear in immigration court for your hearing, you risk receiving an order of removal because you did not appear.
