Advocacy Letters

A key part of Haitian Bridge Alliance’s advocacy work is using our collective voice to demand protection, dignity, and justice for Haitian communities. We regularly send advocacy letters to government officials, urging them to take action on issues that directly impact Haitian migrants and families. Our advocacy has included calling for an end to the detention of Haitians at Guantánamo Bay, urging the extension of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Haiti, and sending letters to Haiti’s Transitional Presidential Council in support of a more just and secure future for the Haitian people. Our last attempt to save lives and to keep families together is for the Senate to pass Senate Bill S. 4814, which will extend Haitian TPS for the next three years. Without the passing of S. 4814, we will witness one of the largest family separation events in modern-day history. This advocacy letter was is to urge the Senate to vote on a three-year extension for Haitian TPS.
