San Diego, CA – Haitian Bridge Alliance (HBA) is thrilled to announce that its Executive Director, Guerline Jozef, has been named to the prestigious BBC 100 Women List for 2024, which honors influential and inspiring women worldwide who are driving significant change in their communities and shaping the future right now and beyond. These women are trailblazers and community heroes joining previous honorees such as former First Lady Michelle Obama, Melinda French Gates and Amal Clooney.  Some of the honorees for this year include but not limited to, United States Senator Susan Collins, United Kingdom’s Deputy Prime Minister, Angela Rayner, and American Actress Sharon Stone

This recognition celebrates Jozef’s unwavering commitment to advocating for the rights and dignity of all immigrants with a particular focus on people of African Descent. Through her leadership at Haitian Bridge Alliance, also known as “The Bridge,” Jozef has championed social justice and equality, shedding light on the challenges faced by vulnerable immigrant communities, particularly Black migrants. Her advocacy work has been instrumental in shaping national and international conversations about immigration, human rights, climate change, foreign policy, and racial justice.

This accolade belongs to the entire HBA family whose tireless efforts drive the vision and mission of our organization.”

Under Jozef’s leadership, Haitian Bridge Alliance has become a leading voice in addressing the systemic injustices faced by Haitians and other migrants, particularly in the wake of increasing global migration challenges. Her work has garnered widespread attention and respect, emphasizing the need for compassion-driven policies and fostering alliances across communities to advocate for human rights.
The BBC 100 Women List, established in 2013, highlights women from diverse fields, including activism, politics, science, arts, and business. Guerline Jozef joins a distinguished group of past honorees such as Former First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama, showcasing the power of grassroots advocacy and its impact on global change.
