SAN DIEGO, CA —- The Haitian Bridge Alliance extends its heartfelt congratulations to the Honorable Prime Minister Andrew Holness of Jamaica on his appointment as the new Chair of the Caribbean Community  (CARICOM). We commend his longstanding commitment to regional integration and leadership at a time when cooperation and solidarity are more crucial than ever.

As the Caribbean continues to navigate complex migration dynamics and severe humanitarian challenges—particularly in Haiti—we look forward to working closely with Prime Minister Holness and CARICOM to advance humane, just, and rights-based solutions. Together, we can strengthen regional frameworks that protect vulnerable populations, uphold human dignity, and foster sustainable development across the region.

Quote from Guerline Jozef, Executive Director of Haitian Bridge Alliance:

“We warmly congratulate Prime Minister Holness on this important new role. At Haitian Bridge Alliance, we believe in a Caribbean rooted in compassion, solidarity, and shared responsibility. As over 500,000 Haitians are faced with potential displacement due to the Trump administration’s inhumane and unjust immigration policies, we hope that CARICOM countries will open their doors to Haitian nationals who may be forced to leave the United States since many cannot return to Haiti due to ongoing severe gang violence and a humanitarian crisis. We trust that Prime Minister Holness will lead this critical regional effort to ensure that our Haitian brothers and sisters, and all those in need, find refuge and dignity within the Caribbean community.”
