San Diego, CA –  Haitian Bridge Alliance vehemently condemns President Donald Trump’s recent executive order terminating the Humanitarian Parole Program for Cubans, Haitians, Nicaraguans, and Venezuelans(CHNV). This program, fought for by human rights groups, including Haitian Bridge Alliance, established under the Biden administration, provided a vital legal pathway for individuals fleeing persecution and dire conditions in their home countries to seek safety in the United States.

The CHNV program has been instrumental in offering refuge to over 530,000 migrants from these four nations, allowing them to live and work legally in the U.S. for up to two years. By dismantling this program, President Trump is not only turning his back on America’s longstanding tradition of humanitarian protection but also endangering the lives of thousands who now face the threat of deportation to countries plagued by violence.

“President Trump’s callous decision to end the CHNV Humanitarian Parole Program is a direct attack on vulnerable communities seeking a legal pathway to the U.S. due to violence in their homeland and a blatant disregard for human rights,” said Guerline Jozef, Executive Director of Haitian Bridge Alliance. “This action further exposes President Trump’s lack of commitment to ending irregular migration. These individuals have sponsors, relatives, families who established deep roots in American communities, contributing economically and culturally and are desperately waiting to be reunited their loved ones.”
